(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Gordon S. Hodgson, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Operations Officer for Commander Carrier Division FIVE, from 19 July 1964 to 25 October 1965, during which time he was responsible for coordination, planning, and execution of the CVA August 1964 reprisal strikes in the Gulf of Tonkin.
