(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral Michael F. D. Flaherty, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander Training Command, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, from January 1963 to September 1966, for maintaining a high level of performance in the command during a period of constantly and rapidly changing training requirements generated by new management programs and new ships weapons and electronic systems.
