(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral (MC) William N. New, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Director of the Staff, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health and Medical), for his work with the medical services of the three military departments in the procurement of medical personnel, the programming and construction of medical facilities, medical supply, medical planning and preventive medicine.
