(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral Dennis C. Lyndon, United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Flotilla ELEVEN from 7 October 1964 to 28 May 1965, and as Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Group, Western Pacific, from October 1964 to February 1965, for his contributions to surface-to-air tactics against high-speed surface craft.
