(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral (SC) Thomas A. Long, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding Officer, Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, from 14 January 1963 to 14 September 1965, by his work in the expansion of the command’s mission and workload in support of Navy and other Defense Department activities at savings of several million dollars to the government.
