(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Chef de Battalion Claude Andre Clement, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Headquarters, 1st Battalion, 5th Regiment Tirail Morocains, 2d Moroccan Infantry Division, French Army, in action against enemy forces in France, on 13 September 1944. Chef de Battalion Clement’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
