The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Lieutenant Commander John A. Davis, Jr., United States Navy, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding Officer of U.S.S. GREENFISH (SS-351), during the winter of 1960. Under Lieutenant Commander Davis’ outstanding leadership, GREENFISH completed an operation of great value to the Government of the United States.
