(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain (MC) George Foote Bond, United States Navy, was awarded a Second Gold Star in lieu of a Third Award of the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Senior Medical Investigator during Project SEALAB II, from 1 February 1965 to 31 October 1965, for his contributions to the medical investigations that gave the United States the first definitive information on long endurance operations at depths below 200 feet in the ocean with divers saturated to the pressure of the depth at which they resided.
