Ensign Clifford Stanley Mehelich (NSN: 0-403149), United States Navy, was captured by Japanese forces after his aircraft in Torpedo Squadron ONE (VT-1) was shot down on or about 15 July 1945, and was held as a Prisoner of War until the end of hostilities in September 1945.
