The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Private Thomas Timothy Fallon, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 5 May 1862, while serving with Company K, 37th New York Infantry, in action at Williamsburg, Virginia. Private Fallon assisted in driving rebel skirmishers to their main line. He participated in action at Fair Oaks, Virginia, May 30 – 31, 1862, though excused from duty because of disability. In a charge with his company at Big Shanty, Georgia, June 14 – 15, 1864, he was the first man on the enemy’s works.
