Florence (NSN: 0-382837), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Torpedo Plane Pilot embarked in U.S.S. SANTEE (CVE-29), near Sakishima Gunto, on 23 April 1945.
