The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to Brigadier General Allan C. During the hostile fire attack of Corregidor, in preparation for the enemy assault, General McBride was subjected to grueling punishment and interrogation to the point of exhaustion, to force from him information of inestimable value to the enemy.
