(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Rolan D. Powell, United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving with Composite Squadron SIXTY-ONE (VC-61), and serving on additional duty with Fighter Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE (VF-121), in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea on 30 October 1952.
