Grewe, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as a Medical Officer attached to a Marine Medical Battalion of the FIRST Marine Division, from 25 August 1952 to 5 June 1953. (Lieutenant Grewe is authorized to wear the Combat “V”.)
