Onstott, United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as Commanding Officer of Carrier Air Group ELEVEN, in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea on 25 May 1952.
