Slattery, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States while serving as Chaplain with the FIRST Marine Division, in Korea, from 17 April to 26 December 1952.
