(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Alfred Edward Nauman, Jr. (NSN: 0-304153), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving in Fighter Squadron EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-ONE (VF-871), embarked in U.S.S. ESSEX (CV-9), in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea on 17 and 18 October 1952.
