Whittaker, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Pilot of a Helicopter, in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea from February through April 1951.
