Summitt, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving with Fighter Squadron ONE HUNDRED FOURTEEN (VF-114), in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea from 6 August to 12 November 1950.
