(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class Chester B. Todd, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy as a member of the crew of a helicopter attached to U.S.S. PHILIPPINE SEA (CV-47), while attempting to rescue a seaman from drowning in the waters off the coast of Korea, on 13 December 1950.
