(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Machinist’s Mate Third Class Abraham Spector, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal (Posthumously) for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while attached to Helicopter Utility Squadron TWO (HU-2), temporarily based aboard U.S.S. FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT (CVA-42), in attempting to rescue a ditched fighter pilot on 6 April 1957.
