Davis, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while serving in U.S.S. KIDD (DD-661), in Buckner Bay, Okinawa, during the morning of 1 January 1953.
