Forbess, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit with Combat “V” for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Officer-in-Charge of a Construction Battalion Maintenance Unit of the FIRST Marine Aircraft Wing in Korea from 11 June 1953 to 15 April 1954.
