(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Machinist Edmond E. Reynolds, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal (Posthumously) for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy. Machinist Reynolds rescued a shipmate from a carbon-monoxide filled storeroom on board U.S.S. LOS ANGELES (CA-135), at anchor in Sasebo, Japan, on 31 July 1951.
