Spiers (ASN: 0-815992), United States Army Air Forces, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as Pilot of a B-17 airplane, 545th Bombardment Squadron, 384th Bombardment Group (Heavy), EIGHTH Air Force, on a number of combat bombardment missions over Germany and German occupied countries.
