The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Sergeant First Class Patrick J. McDonald, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, Civil Military Operations Directorate, Elections Branch, Multi-National Force-Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq, from 25 June 2005 to 10 May 2006 during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Sergeant First Class McDonald’s exemplary dedication to duty and attention to detail, contributed to the overwhelming success of the voter registration update, National Constitutional referendum and Iraq Council of Representatives election. His extensive professional knowledge and experience directly contributed to the successful execution of the electoral process in Iraq. Sergeant First Class McDonald’s actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect distinct credit upon himself, the Multi-National Force-Iraq, and the United States Army.
