The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Staff Sergeant Stanley L. Biedron (ASN: 32389759), United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy while serving with Company L, 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, in France, on 25 October 1944. When a building was demolished and many men suffered injuries from an explosion of mines and booby traps, Staff Sergeant Biedron immediately organized a rescue squad. Despite the danger from unexploded munitions, he moved about the area, with disregard for personal safety, to supervise the rescue of twenty-three severely wounded men. Staff Sergeant Biedron’s courage and devotion were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit and the United States Army.
