Jacob (ASN: 350826666), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company L, 3d Battalion, 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division, in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States on 13 March 1945 in Germany. Staff Sergeant Jacob, while under enemy artillery, mortar, nebelwerfer, anti-aircraft, and small arms fire, inspired his men to attack Greimerath, Germany.
