(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Sergeant Mark T. Alperin, United States Army, was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for heroism involving voluntary risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy, in Afghanistan. Sergeant Alperin displayed the highest degree of professionalism, sound judgment, technical and tactical knowledge and an overwhelming concern for the welfare of his Rangers. His exceptional performance and dedication to duty were contributing factors in saving a fellow Ranger and the success of the task force.
