    SYNOPSIS – (Citation Needed): The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant David L. Cross, United States Marine Corps, for heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight while serving as a Pilot with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR (HMM-364), Marine Aircraft Group Thirty-Six, First Marine Aircraft Wing in connection with operations against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam during a daring night reconnaissance extract, 25 miles southwest of Da Nang on 28 March 1970. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Marine Corps.
