(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: First Lieutenant (Military Police Corps) Alan K. Underwood, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action on 5 February 1966 in the Republic of Vietnam. The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First LieutenantUnderwood, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
