Douglas Ramsey was a U.S. State Department Foreign Service Officer in South Vietnam. On January 17, 1966, he was driving a truck northwest of Saigon when he was captured by Viet Cong forces. He was held in captivity in Southeast Asia until his release on February 12, 1973.
