Carolyn, John and Luanne Miller were translators with Wycliffe Bible Translators and had lived in Southeast Asia since 1961 to study the Bru tribes people and translate the Bible into their language. The Miller family was captured on March 12, 1975 and held in captivity until October 30, 1975. The were released without the fifty-thousand word manuscript that represented their fourteen years of work.
