Samuel Allen Mattix, a United States Civilian, was held as a Prisoner of War in Laos from October 28, 1972 until his release on March 28, 1973.
(NOTE: As a civilian he is NOT authorized the POW Medal, but is listed by the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office as a Vietnam War POW.)
