Richard Hartman graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1957. He was interned as a Prisoner of War in North Vietnam after he was shot down on July 19, 1967 and was held until his death in captivity. His remains were recovered and returned on March 6, 1974
