Samuel Adams was interned as a Prisoner of War in South Vietnam after he was captured along with fellow Airmen Charles Dusing and Jasper Page near Vung Tau, South Vietnam, on October 31, 1965. Two days later he and Page jumped their guards in an escape attempt during which Page was successful in eventually reaching American forces. Samuel Adams is believed to have died in that attempt. His remains have not been recovered.
