    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal to Sergeant First Class Alejandro J. Arroyo, United States Army, for meritorious achievement while serving as Advisor to the 2d Battalion MiTT, 3d Division Iraqi Army, from 15 – 16 June 2005. Sergeant First Class Arroyo was instrumental in the medical evacuation of a critically wounded Iraqi Boy. Because of his actions that night the boy survived his injuries. Sergeant First Class Arroyo’s performance brings great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.

    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Executive Order 11046, 24 August 1962, takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” to Sergeant First Class Alejandro J. Arroyo, United States Army, for exceptionally valorous conduct in the face of the enemy of the Unites States as a Military Transition Team Advisor, 2d Battalion, 1st Brigade, 3d Infantry Division Military Transition Team, in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM III on 27 June 2005. With disregard to his own personal safety, he bounded from his position of safety under enemy fire to a downed helicopter. After securing the pilots, he further risked his life to remove sensitive items from the burning aircraft. His heroism resulted in saving the lives of two U.S. Pilots and prevented military equipment from falling into the hands of the enemy. His action are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon him, Multi-National Force Northwest, and the United States Army.

Arroyo, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious service as a member of the Multi-National Force Northwest from 14 November 2004 to 1 October 2005 during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM III. Sergeant First Class Arroyo’s outstanding performance and dedication to duty were critical to the overwhelming success of the Command’s mission. His action are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, Multi-National Force Northwest, and the United States Army.
