The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Jesse M. Allen, United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States. General Allen distinguished himself as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans; and as Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans, Headquarters, Tactical Air Command, from 1 June 1971 to 14 June 1974. During this period, General Allen’s exceptional initiative, professional capability and dynamic direction of major command programs contributed significantly to the successful completion of the Tactical Air Command mission. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Allen reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
