The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pride in presenting the Silver Star (Posthumously) to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Kenneth R. Robinson (ASN: 0-1017113), United States Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with Company D, 36th Tank Battalion, 8th Armored Division, in Germany on 5 March 1945. Lieutenant Robinson displayed outstanding leadership during an assault on a heavily fortified enemy position. He quickly reorganized the company when his company commander was wounded. Without consideration for his own safety, he led his men until their mission was accomplished. His aggressive leadership and courage were an inspiration to all and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the United States.
