    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Guy G. Norton (ASN: 34194294), United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 433d Medical Collecting Company (Separate), in Luxembourg, on 24 January 1945. Private Norton, serving as an ambulance orderly, supporting action of the 6th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron near Mecher-S-Clerf, Luxembourg, displayed great skill and courage in accomplishing his mission. On one occasion he voluntarily braved enemy fire to evacuate a wounded soldier from a forward area. Private Norton’s heroism and courageous, untiring devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
