The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Technical Sergeant Louis Gullitti (ASN: 70129384), United States Army, for gallantry in action at New Georgia, Solomon Islands, while serving as a Medical Aidman, in going forward, during enemy artillery shelling at night, under double jeopardy from enemy and friendly fire, in order to render first aid to a seriously wounded officer on 15 July 1943.
