The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Infantry) John J. Bugganer (ASN: 0-1822952), United States Army, for gallantry in action against the enemy while serving with the 703d Tank Destroyer Battalion, 3d Armored Division, in action from 13 January 1945 through 4 March 1945, in Belgium and Germany. First Lieutenant Bugganer’s outstanding gallantry and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, the 3d Armored Division, and the United States Army.
