The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Glenn Hubert Wilson (AFSN: FR-54287), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4C Aircraft Commander with the 559th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Cam Ranh Bay Air Base, South Vietnam, in action against the enemy on 20 May 1967. On that date, Captain Wilson was the flight leader on a strike executed against a hostile field artillery position and numerous antiaircraft positions. Captain Wilson led his force directly to the target and delivered his ordnance precisely on target while under heavy fire. As only part of his bomb load was released in the first bomb run due to an aircraft weapons system malfunction, Captain Wilson reset his system, pulled the aircraft back on target and with unwavering calmness and courage, again dove on the hostile guns, silencing the ground fire that had harassed his flight. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Wilson reflect great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.
