The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Olaff Delmas Graffagnino (AFSN: FR-71377), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an RF-101 reconnaissance Pilot near Kep Airfield, North Vietnam, on (date unreadable), 1967. On that date, Captain Graffagnino flew the wing position in a flight of two RF-101 aircraft on a photo reconnaissance mission over heavily defended, high interest targets. Despite interference from two surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery fire, he was able to obtain one hundred percent photographic coverage of all assigned target while alerting his leader of enemy defenses. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Graffagnino reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
