The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Staff Sergeant Aaron D. Farrior, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a rescue helicopter Pararescueman over Southeast Asia on 7 March 1966. On that date, under hazardous and adverse conditions, outstanding airmanship and courage were exhibited by Sergeant Farrior in the successful rescue and recovery of an American pilot whose aircraft had been shot down while on a mission over hostile territory. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Farrior reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
