The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Robert D. Eaglet (AFSN: FR-74194), United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States. General Eaglet distinguished himself as Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Integration and Architecture, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs, and Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans and Programs, Headquarters Air Force Systems Command, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, from 31 July 1979 to 30 June 1984. General Eaglet made extraordinary fundamental contributions of lasting value to the Air Force and the nation across the spectrum of Command activities. Through his boundless leadership ability and creativity, he has greatly enhanced development planning, made possible the infusion of revolutionary technologies into current and future weapon systems and increased Air Force mission capability in all theaters. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Eaglet reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
