The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Bennie Luke Davis, United States Air Force, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States. General Davis distinguished himself as Deputy Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff/Personnel for Military Personnel and Vice Commander, Air Force Personnel Center, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, from 14 July 1972 to 1 June 1974. In this critical staff position, General Davis provided strong decisive leadership through intensive personal involvement and imaginative foresight in furthering the goals of the United States Air Force. His inspirational leadership and tireless dedication to mission accomplishment have resulted in unprecedented advances in the management of Air Force Personnel. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Davis reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
