The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Kenneth William Cordier (AFSN: 71351), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4C Pilot in Southeast Asia on 17 October 1966. On that date, Captain Cordier was mission commander on a mission against a hostile automatic weapons site. Captain Cordier’s great professional skill and calm courage in the face of a hostile threat were singularly responsible for destruction of the target. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Cordier reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
