(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Brigadier General Edward Daniel Cherry, United States Air Force, was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, culminating as Commander, U.S. Air Force Recruiting Service, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Recruiting Service and Commissioning Programs, Headquarters Air Training Command, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, from 22 August 1987 to 31 December 1988. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Cherry and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
