The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Elmo Clinnard Baker (AFSN: 0-3026432), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-105 Pilot over North Vietnam on 21 June 1967. On that date, Major Baker successfully attacked the heavily defended Kep railroad yard. Despite intense ground fire encountered during all stages of the attack, Major Baker calmly and with extreme concentration led his element to the target and successfully destroyed a large portion of the yard, without the loss of a single aircraft. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Baker reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
